We inform HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC - the tax office) of all new Pensioners when they go onto pension.

New Pensioners are initially put onto the Emergency Tax Code, which for 2024/25 is 1257L on a Month 1 basis until HMRC advise us otherwise. We can only change a Pensioner’s tax code if we are notified in writing directly by HMRC.
